The GEST April on-lookers could witness Orange’s mighty run through the upper bracket, taking down Mineski, MSiEvo-GT and iZONE to claim the first prize of $1,500 USD. It was “Nando” who stood in for Mineski during the Summer Assembly along with RR, Owa, Bimbo and Wootz. Despite earlier rumors that the latter was going to leave the team, it seems that it was Julz instead who would break up the Filipino dream team.
Back then, Ledion Dreamz manager Big Dog J made the announcement during his team’s first game of the tournament that it was going to be Julz’s debut as a member of his team. Yet, no official confirmation was released by the Mineski organisation and things went back to a lull.

]]>Having defeated a struggling Mineski at the Gigabyte Dota 2 Masters last week, Giggles represents the face of a rising amateur Dota 2 competitive scene in South East Asia. “For now, we excel in the Gigabyte Dota 2 Masters,” explained Joseph, member of the Singaporean team.
Unknown internationally, the team is looking to make their first major break in the scene. While Joseph was assured in saying “Gigabyte Dota 2 Masters was just the beginning”, he acknowledged that “honestly, his team still lacked practice” after their switch to Dota 2 about a month ago.

]]>DotATalk went inside the Malaysian DotA scene this week and spoke to team Rise, one of the country’s many rising amateur teams who are looking to make their break internationally. Playing DotA professionally was never in the books, says Xneverluv.
Despite the Malaysian scene having a long way to go before matching the Chinese or Filipinos, Xneverluv was hopeful and observed that ‘more people were getting paid’.
